چکیده
Objective: To compare the effects of dexamethasone and fentanyl when added to a mixture bupivacaine lignocaine in supraclavicular blocks patients undergoing forearm surgeries. Methods: Sixty-six aged between 20 60 years old belonging ASA one or two were recruited prospectively, double-blinded, randomized way. Supraclavicular block under sonographic guidance was performed three groups by using injection (0.5%) cc + (2%) 10 0.9% normal saline; 2ml (Group S), 8 mg D), 50 µgm F). The onset time sensory motor block, duration hemodynamic variables recorded. Results: Group D showed significantly greater than other ( P = 0.001). Comparison failed reveal any statistically significant differences all groups. Conclusion: Both are good adjuvants but is better, given faster analgesia.

Comparison between Conventional and Ultrasound-Guided Supraclavicular Brachial Plexus Block in Upper Limb Surgeries
INTRODUCTION Brachial plexus blockade is a time-tested technique for upper limb surgeries. The classical approach using paresthesia technique is a blind technique and may be associated with a higher failure rate and injury to the nerves and surrounding structures. To avoid some of these problems, use of peripheral nerve stimulator and ultrasound techniques were started which allowed better loca...
متن کاملEffect of Nalbuphine as Adjuvant to Bupivacaine for Ultrasound-Guided Supraclavicular Brachial Plexus Block
Background: Nalbuphine is a derivative of 14-hydroxymorphine which is a strong analgesic with mixed k agonist and μ antagonist. Nalbuphine was studied several times as adjuvant to local anesthetics in spinal, epidural and local intravenous block. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of nalbuphine as an adjuvant to local anesthetics in supraclavicular brachial plexus block. Patients ...

متن کاملA comparison of dexmedetomidine and clonidine as an adjuvant to local anaesthesia in supraclavicular brachial plexus block for upper limb surgeries
Background: Regional anaesthesia is the recommended technique for upper and lower limb surgeries with better postoperative profile. The brachial plexus block provides a useful alternative to general anesthesia, for upper limb surgeries. Supraclavicular approach for brachial plexus block is most commonly suitable for upper limb surgeries and post operative pain relief. Aims and objectives: The ai...
متن کاملComparison of Efficacy of Ropivacine Alone with Tramadol – Ropivacaine Combination in Supraclavicular Brachial Plexus Block for Upper Limb Surgery
Background and Objectives: Repivacaine, a long acting local anaesthetic, less toxic than bupivacaine is now being used in peripheral nerve blocks. Most commonly adjuvants are used to enhance the quality and duration of anaesthesia and analgesia. The objective of this study was to compare the effect of tramadol as adjuvant to ropivacaine on the quality, duration of anaesthesia and postoperative ...
